Responsibilities:
– Perform venipuncture and collect blood specimens from patients
– Ensure proper patient identification and labeling of specimens
– Follow established protocols for specimen collection and processing
– Maintain a clean and organized work area
– Adhere to safety and infection control policies and procedures
– Provide excellent patient care and ensure patient comfort during the phlebotomy process
– Utilize medical terminology and knowledge of laboratory procedures to accurately communicate with healthcare professionals
Requirements:
– High school diploma or equivalent
– Completion of an accredited phlebotomy training program
– Certification as a phlebotomist preferred
– Proficiency in aseptic technique and clinical laboratory procedures
– Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
– Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
– Knowledge of medical terminology related to phlebotomy and laboratory testing
