Overview
IBC operates a full-service foundry, forge (hammers, press and ring roller) with heat treating and machining in Franklin, Indiana. Equipment consists of furnaces, saws, hammers, 1500-ton press, California style ring roller and a full machine shop with manual and CNC lathes and mills.
Job Summary
Efficiently process the flow of raw materials through to its destination within the facility or prepare and package finished goods for transportation to the customer. This role combines physical material handling with technical inventor control and tracking to ensure material orders are processed safely and accurately. This position reports to the Logistics and Purchasing Manager.
Essential Duties
· Safely unload incoming shipments using forklifts or overhead cranes
· Inspect incoming materials for damage or defects and verify that quantities and grades match the BOL (bill of lading) or packing slip and our purchase order
· Ensure product is packaged adequately to arrive safely and on time at its intended destination
· Make timely entries into the computer ERP system to accurately record shipping and receiving activity
· Construct skids and/or packaging to protect product shipments
· Prioritize work to meet production requirements as defined by the production coordinator
· Keep the dock and shipping area clean, assist in cycle counts, and perform basic maintenance on equipment like saws and forklifts
· Perform work safely following all safety and environmental regulations
· Other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
· Excellent written and verbal communications skills
· Ability to operate a forklift
· 1 to 3 years shipping and receiving experience
· Ability to perform physical requirements of the job (prolonged physical exertions, including standing, lifting, pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, kneeling).
· Valid Indiana driver’s license
