Mars Hill Pet Care is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician / Veterinary Assistant (minimum 5 years veterinary experience required) to join our team. We are looking for a motivated, dependable team member who is confident in technical skills and passionate about providing exceptional patient care.
This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has strong experience in surgery, dentistry, anesthesia monitoring, and advanced patient care.
Responsibilities Include:
✔ Surgical patient preparation and recovery
✔ Dental prophylaxis and dental radiograph assistance
✔ Anesthesia induction, monitoring, and patient support
✔ IV catheter placement and venipuncture
✔ Blood collection and laboratory sample handling
✔ Patient restraint and low-stress handling techniques
✔ Medication administration (oral, injectable, SQ, IV as permitted)
✔ Digital radiology assistance and positioning
✔ Monitoring hospitalized patients
✔ Client education and discharge instructions
✔ Assisting doctors during examinations and procedures
✔ Maintaining surgical packs, sterilization, and treatment area organization
✔ Medical record documentation and treatment execution
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years experience in veterinary medicine (required)
- Strong surgery and dental experience
- Comfortable with anesthesia monitoring and recovery protocols
- Confident IV catheter placement and blood draws
- Experience with hospitalized and critical care patients preferred
- Ability to multitask while maintaining attention to detail
- Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset
- Leadership and mentoring ability is a plus
