Paint & Stain Prep Technician
Hide-A-Way Doors – Morristown, TN
Hide-A-Way Doors is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Paint & Stain Prep Technician to join our growing team. This position plays a critical role in the quality of our finished products. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, pays attention to detail, and understands the importance of proper surface preparation.
Previous cabinet finishing or woodworking experience is helpful, but we are willing to train the right individual who has a strong work ethic and a desire to learn.
Responsibilities
- Sand and prepare wood components for paint and stain finishes
- Inspect surfaces for imperfections and make necessary corrections
- Fill, smooth, and prep wood surfaces to meet quality standards
- Clean and organize parts before they move into the finishing process
- Assist finishers with staging and handling products
- Perform quality checks throughout the preparation process
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- Follow production schedules while maintaining attention to detail
Qualifications
- Experience in woodworking, cabinet manufacturing, furniture manufacturing, construction, auto body prep, or similar hands-on work is preferred
- Ability to use hand sanders and other basic shop tools
- Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship
- Ability to read a tape measure and follow instructions
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 75 pounds
- Reliable transportation and dependable attendance
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
